Trekking
The ultimate goal for the hiker (trekker) is entirely or largely the path itself or the uninterrupted and undisturbed experience of nature - right up to the experience of challenging adventure trips. For this reason, such trips originally only took place with a trekking tent or tarp in regions with marginal infrastructure (only a few huts, no paths or trails instead of developed paths, wading instead of bridges). In a broader sense (a trend sport), however, other multi-day trips (over huts, paths, bridges) in natural areas have recently been called trekking if they take place without motorized means of transport and the type of transport (hiking, cycling, paddling, etc.) is in the foreground. These “soft” forms of trekking are carried out much more frequently today.
