TV
The images on the television are displayed on a screen. Using video projectors as a television (as a “home theater”) is another option. With a TV card, the computer monitor can also be used as a television. There are also transmission options via the Internet and broadband cable, where the computer serves as a receiving device.
Aside from the image display system, the most important part of a television is the tuner, which converts the analog or digital high-frequency signals from the cable connection, antenna or satellite input into a video signal. A SCART socket is usually available on European devices for connecting other video systems (e.g. DVD players, DVB-T tuners, satellite receivers), or DVI or HDMI sockets for digital signals. The sounds are played back via speakers, which can also be located outside the device.
